patio.

Homes. Existing buildings. Everyday life.

Room for
everyday life.

An open door. A cool patch of shade. A room that catches the morning light. Architecture begins with the way we live.

Rooms gathered around an olive tree, with somewhere to sit in the shade.

Selected studies

A new life for familiar places.

Three ways to work with light, what is already there, and the materials close at hand.

An agricultural building imagined as a shared place to work with clay.

A small home opened to garden light, one carefully framed view at a time.

The drawing behind the photograph.

A project is more than its finished view. Explore the threshold, the relationship between rooms and the material decisions behind each concept study.

One constraint. One architectural response.

Bring daylight into a deep footprint without making every room public.

Casa Olivo uses the courtyard as an organiser. Shared rooms meet the outside; quieter rooms sit behind a deeper edge. The drawing describes a relationship, not a surveyed building.

Material study with pale stone, oak, lime plaster and clay samples arranged on a worktable.

The studio

Less to look at. More to live with.

In this concept, patio. is a small architecture practice working with homes and existing buildings. Its starting materials are light, proportion and the habits of the people who use a place.

Approach

A way of working

Begin with what is there.

01

Look closely

Understand the site, the daylight and the small routines a space needs to hold.

02

Keep what matters

Work with useful structures and materials. Change only what gives the place a better use.

03

Resolve the details

Follow the idea through to a threshold, a handle, a place to sit.
